There are ten different types of clouds. Each type of cloud has a role, an altitude, and a different luminosity.
Their shapes depend, among other things, on the stability of the atmosphere. Stable weather will favor the formation of clouds with horizontal development such as Cirrus, Cirrostratus, Cirrocumulus, Altocumulus, Altostratus, Nimbostratus, and finally, Stratus, Stratocumulus.
A certain instability will favor the formation of clouds with vertical development such as Cumulus and Cumulonimbus.
